Heather Skyline Golden Angie flaming
Skyline Golden Angie is an evergreen variety thanks to which the flower bed shimmers with shades of gold, yellow and red throughout the whole year. This is not a dream but an unusual variety of Skyline heather, which brings summer brightness to every garden. Thanks to it, there will be no lack of colour in the garden even on gloomy winter days. Describing this variety as flaming heather is accurate, the plant shimmers with yellow-red colouring, resembling a burning fire.
Heather that attracts all eyes
It is not without reason that this variety is called one of the most attractive heather varieties. Densely arranged, small leaves taking on an intense golden shade will delight everyone. The best effect can be achieved by planting heather seedlings in a sunny place. The plant changes its appearance with the season, which adds even more charm to it - with the arrival of autumn weather the heather takes on warmer tones. The variety is most often used in heather gardens and as an element of arrangements in flower beds or in pots. This shrub has a compact, columnar habit, most often regular. It grows to a height of 30cm and a similar width. This feature makes the plant an ideal choice both for group plantings in the garden and for decoration in pots.
Easy to grow - does not require professional knowledge
The unusual appearance of the plant may wrongly suggest that the plant requires complicated care. The reality is completely different - even an amateur gardener can manage flaming heather.
- Growing place: it is best to choose a sunny place, where the leaves of the plant will have the possibility to develop their colour most intensely. In partial shade the plant will lose the intensity of its colour, however it will still delight. It is worth making sure that the sun reaches the plant for most of the day.
- Soil: : like all heather plants Skyline Golden Angie also prefers acidic, light and permeable soil. It can be ready-made soil for heather plants. If the soil is too heavy and clay-like, it is worth improving its structure by adding sand and peat.
- Watering: heather requires constantly moist soil, however it should not be waterlogged. Young seedlings are especially exposed to drying out, therefore you should remember about regular watering of this plant.
Care that every gardener can manage
When having Golden Angie heather, you should remember about spring pruning of the seedlings. This treatment should be carried out in early spring by shortening the shoots by 1/3 of their length. Pruning will stimulate the plants to produce new shoots, which results in thickening of the heather. The plant is frost-resistant so it does not require special preparation for the winter season. Only the root systems of plants grown in pots are exposed to low temperatures. In this case, the pot should be wrapped with thermal insulation material.
