Strawberry Korona

Strawberry Korona is one of the most highly regarded dessert varieties with a medium-early fruiting period. It originates from the Netherlands; however, thanks to its exceptional taste qualities and attractive appearance, it has gained popularity across the entire European market. For many years it has been eagerly chosen not only by commercial growers but also by allotment holders and amateur gardeners.

The variety is renowned for its outstanding dessert-quality fruits with a sweet taste and rich aroma. The flesh is juicy and has a very pleasant texture. Korona performs excellently both for direct consumption and for preparing homemade preserves.

What are strawberry plants of the FRIGO type?

Frigo – this is a technology for producing strawberry plants. Digging up strawberry plants takes place in late autumn or early winter, immediately after the end of the growing season. They are then sorted according to class, cleaned of old leaves, protected against grey mould, and packed into crates. Frigo plants are stored in special cold chambers at temperatures from -1.5 °C to -3 °C until shipment. Plants stored under these conditions, after being removed from cold storage and planted in the soil, grow quickly and produce their first fruits after approximately 4–6 weeks. They are ideal for both beginners and advanced growers.
